I’ve been enjoying Joe Rogan’s musings for quite a while now. It might sound strange, if you remember Rogan from News Radio or Fear Factor, but the stand up comedian turned actor turned UFC commentator has made a lot of personal transformation since those days, and has quite a lot of interesting perspective to share on life.

His Joe Rogan Experience podcast is jam-packed with fascinating interviews and inspiration. Here are a couple great episodes with Tim Ferriss, Anthony Bourdain, Graham Hancock, and Neil DeGrasse Tyson… if you listen for long, you’ll find the JRE is full of gems. One of my favorite sayings Joe has coined is about being the hero of your own movie, or your own epic story. That resonates perfectly with what we’re all about here at Thrilling Heroics.

If your life was a movie and it started now, what would the hero of your life’s movie do right now?

Watch this great short video featuring Joe Rogan on the Onnit site if it doesn’t appear above for you.

“We define ourselves far too often by our past failures. That’s not you. You are this person right now. You’re the person who has learned from those failures. Build confidence and momentum with each good decision you make from here on out and choose to be inspired.”

—Joe Rogan

      Hi Cody,

I’m slightly addicted to the podcast too, mainly because his guests are so varied and so fascinating. A recent podcast with Robert Greene is one of the best to date, in my humble opinion 🙂

I’ve always gained strength by thinking of my life story as one of heroes and victims. Sometimes being the hero requires doing difficult things, but ultimately its worth it. This is an interesting series, thanks for sharing it with us.

Hey Cody, I wasn’t aware that Joe Rogan had Tim Ferriss in his podcast, definitely going to catch that one!

I watched this JR video a few days ago on Facebook and it truly fascinated me. I am still deeply moved from it and I’m thinking about watching it first thing in the morning for some extra motivation.

      Thanks for sharing brother!

      Love the Rogan.

His “be the hero of your own movie” resonated deeply with me, especially as I began the scary transition of leaving my high paid corporate life.

And now, here I am in Medellin (friends with you) – building the dream, one day at a time. The learning curve has been steep, and setbacks have been many. Yet, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I’m in control. I make the rules. I’m calling the shots.

That shot in the arm of pure self esteem and power is priceless, man.

      Cheers
